The wine industry can play a major role in reducing carbon emissions, and New Zealand has been a strong leader in that regard. Michelle Bouffard, founder of Tasting Climate Change, met with Meagan Littlejohn, Program Manager of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ), to discuss what net zero means and what measures SWNZ has implemented to achieve its goal of becoming net zero by 2050.

In 2024, SWNZ released its Road Map to Net Zero 2050, outlining six key areas producers must strengthen to achieve their climate-neutral target.
